Scenario: Hestia

It's about time I do another creative expression post, instead of just talking about the things other people have done.
Behold! This happens when I apply myself.

Remember Finding Nemo, when they jammed the fishtank filter? Imagine that out of water.
Try not to think too hard about it. (Source: YouTube)
I like the idea of a planet overrun by airborne algae, but with scarce other complex life. Maybe some squishy fungus, giant worms plowing through the mud, and of course whatever is under the ocean is anyone's guess.

The defining visual characteristic of this planet, which I am tentatively calling "Hestia," would be the low visibility. If you live in a climate with snowy winters, imagine that, but green.

Hear that? That's the sound of your spacesuit's biofilters. Whimpering. (Source: Wikipedia. Modified. Original author: Rafaelgarcia. Licensed under GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2)
A world dominated by microbial life could offer some applications. Who knows? A planet like this could hold a bacteria that could cure cancer, purify sewers, synthesize petroleum...I don't know if any of this is scientifically feasible, but it would make for great storytelling applications. A planet everybody wants to own but nobody wants to live on.

I don't really have many more ideas surrounding this; just thought it'd be cool.
